Yesterday evening, after Funny Bunny got home from dance class, she brought out this pink cloth thing and a piece of string. I automatically think, what is she going to put on me this time? As always, I was right. It was dress-Maisy-up-like-a-goddess-and-bow-down-to-her time. You must know that I absolutely despise dressing up. Even in dog outfits.
So while all my humans were laughing about it to themselves, I found my chance and tried to scratch off my "goddess headdress" with my paw. Then I heard a "Maisy, why did you move it?", it was put back on top of my head and, unfortunately for me, a picture was taken.
As much as I love my humans, sometimes they just get on my nerves!

My Adventure with Flip Flop
I'm different then other dogs in a few ways (grunting and never barking are just a few), but the biggest thing that sets me apart is this: I don't really like other dogs. I've never actually had any doggie friends, although I do have many human ones.
One day, my family started packing things into the back of our car, so I knew they were going on vacation. I had thought that I'd be staying Funny Bunny's friend's house. But I was wrong.
I yapped with excitement about the road trip we were taking. It was about 9:00 in the morning, but I felt awake and ready to go!
I was surprised to see my dad load up my cage in the back trunk. I looked at him curiously. He said, "That's right Maisy - you're going to North Carolina with us!"
I was so happy to be going on vacation with my family to my human aunt and uncle's house! That is, until my mom said, "They have another dog named Flip Flop, Maisy. I wonder how you'll get along?"
I stiffened. Last time I had come face to face with my uncle's old dog, it had included the other dog climbing all over me, trying to sniff me, me growling back (angering the other dog), and my human mom swinging me around in the air on my leash until she caught me. I was dizzy, humiliated, and I didn't want to come out of my bed ever again.
Now I was worried. What if the new dog was like the old one? What if my mom swings me around again? What if I made the other dog mad, and we were stuck in the same house together for a week?
However nervous I was, it's hard to worry when you're going on an awesome car trip. And I was pretty much pooped out when we got there after the 8-hour trip. I saw my aunt and uncle waving as we pulled up to their awesome house - it's a 3 story wooden house with a cool bird feeder in the backyard, attracting all sorts of pretty birds. I stuck my head out of the window and howled back at them. It was great to see them - until I realized that their dog was with them!
I studied him carefully. He was big and black with white specs. And he was dancing all around the gated front porch. His eyes said, "Come on! Come on! Hurry! Hurry! Let's play! Let's sniff each other! Come on!"
I gave a wary eye to him. I was a little nervous, but when I saw Funny Bunny run up to the gate and patting him on the head, I knew she wouldn't pet a scary or mean dog.
Soon, we were playing together, and all my worries melted away. Now I know that it's OK to meet new doggies, because not all just want to attack you!

Here I am at home before we left. I was so excited it was hard to stand still for the camera!
Here I am at my aunt and uncle's house. It's so big!
